Scope

My client is a major global food production company who currently have an opportunity for a Senior Scientific Services Technician to join their team.

They will be based on site at Burton Latimer with the option to work from home from time to time.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in contaminant and nutritional risk assessments
  • Reviewing performance of analytical methods
  • Assisting in Chemistry Lab quality systems
  • Updating UKAS documentation
  • Data extraction and manipulation
  • Consumer complaint investigation
  • Tracking and extracting relevant data from legislative updates
  • Other similar tasks as they arise

About You

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with LIMS
  • Experience with laboratory quality systems
  • Basic statistical knowledge
  • Understanding of ISO 17025 accreditation or equivalent
  • Data extraction and manipulation from LIMS (desirable)
  • Knowledge of food legislation (desirable)
  • Experience with scientific risk assessments (desirable)
  • Experience with document control (desirable)
  • Knowledge of method development and validation (desirable)

Personal Skills

  • Able to prioritise their own work
  • Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to make decisions and understand the impact of them

Qualifications

  • Science based A levels or degree, preferably chemistry/biology based
