Sales Manager - Pet Retail

Scope

As a newly developed role this is an ideal opportunity to ‘own’ the territory you will be responsible for, driving and executing strategies. Your background in consumer brands within the pet industry will come to play as this will allow you to effectively monitor category performance and identify opportunities for new business, which will be crucial to success in this role.

Furthermore, you will have demonstrated skills in achieving sales, profitability, and budget goals – implementing both sales and marketing strategies. You’ll have experience working with online marketplaces, emerging retailers and omnichannel retailers and have demonstrated a strong ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Selling the company brand and any other brands requested within the portfolio
  • Selling Private label product range where appropriate
  • Identifying and developing new customers and to increase market penetration in Europe.
  • Play a full and active part in defining commercial proposals for customers.
  • Reach and exceed sales targets.
  • Effectively manage your accounts, ensuring revenue targets are reached and customer’s relationships are built.
  • Develop new business according to a clear growth plan and KPI’s set.
  • Prepare forecasts and budgets for ongoing and new business customers.
  • Attend appropriate Trade Fairs as required to generate leads and build relationships.
  • Responsible for creating joint business plans with a win-win focus.
  • Act as a key interface between the customer and all relevant divisions within the company.
  • Manage sales out data to help build & execute effective business plans with accounts.
  • Identifying and winning new opportunities.
  • Launching new projects with existing customers and achieving set targets.
  • Working across geographic boundaries and building key relationships.
  • Ability to build and balance a diverse customer base.

About You

  • Minimum 3 years Pet Industry experience, with a track record in Sales
  • Strong Sales & Tools knowledge and understanding. Leadership drive and influencing skills
  • Capability to navigate from simplifying and clarifying the big picture to a detailed-oriented approach
  • Strong analytical background and ability to structure large amounts of data and information to draw conclusions and make proposals
  • Passion for execution, highly motivated, drive and willingness to make a difference
  • Collaborative and partnership spirit
  • Target focused with a track record of achieving and exceeding targets set.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with strength in spotting opportunities within the market.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with a track record of building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Professional communication skills with the ability to connect with the customer in the most appropriate way.
