Research Executive

Our client are a well reputable business who work with the leading brands across food, beverage, personal care, home care and pharmaceutical industries. They’re now looking to recruit a skilled and enthusiastic Research Executive to join the Reading team.

• To work with colleagues to help set up, run and analyse sensory and consumer tests ensuring that all documented procedures relevant to Project Management are adhered to.

• To supervise casual staff during testing and to assist with their induction and training programme.

• To be accountable for the cleanliness of the facility; ensuring that all cleaning is carried out in accordance with Company procedures.

• To set up, run and report simple projects in accordance with Company Procedures (with support from your Line Manager or a Director).

• To work at all times in accordance with the Company Culture to achieve the company's Mission.

• To organise and plan your time to ensure that all your deadlines are met and promises to both clients and colleagues kept.

• Communicate disciplinary and grievance issues to the Research Director/Managing Director

• Carry out routine cleaning as specified in documented procedures and supervise casual and/or junior staff in cleaning duties.

• Ensure surplus product is returned to storage, disposed of or packed for client return following a study (as directed by the Project Manager).

• Be aware of the stock levels for the basic supplies (e.g. disposables, kitchen equipment, and stationary) and record on the ordering list, or notify the relevant staff member responsible for ordering, if levels are low.

• Place weekly orders for items listed on the ordering sheet in accordance with all operating procedures relating to Purchasing, OR provide support for the person responsible for purchasing (where necessary take responsibility for purchasing during staff holidays and absence.

• Ensure that you and staff under your supervision comply with the Company Food Hygiene Policy and the Health and Safety Policy, and that guidelines are always followed.

• Strong team player with a passion for Sensory Science and experience of working with trained sensory panels or moderating consumer focus groups.
• A relevant degree such as Food Science, Sensory Science, Psychology or Sociology is desirable.
