Relationship Manager - Field Sales

Aquatics

Scope

This is a new opportunity to work for a leading, well-established supplier of pet products. This role of Relationship Manager will suit a commercially focussed, driven and ambitious individual with experience of and an interest in aquatics. You will manage existing relationships and develop new business within independent aquatic retailers, garden centres and pet stores (with an aquatics section). You will achieve maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within the Midlands area, effectively selling the company's aquatic products to independent retailers and some national accounts. The ideal candidate would be based near the M1 Corridor between Leicester, Birmingham, and Nottingham.

Responsibilities

  • To achieve the annual turnover and margin budget of the Aquatics area through direct-selling into the Top 50 Aquatic stores to a defined call schedule, whilst providing telephone support to all other stores on the area.
  • Supporting the Pet field sales team in Aquatics stores via phone support and in-person visits
  • Working with the Customer Services team to provide solutions and assistance to Aquatics and Pet customers
  • Using point of sale effectively in stores and selling through use of samples and case studies
  • Finds and opens new accounts drawing from competitor stores and from new openings
  • Solves customers queries and follows through promises made

About You

  • Must have field sales experience in Aquatics and Pet
  • Must be within 10% of the Predictive Index ideal role type
  • Ideally BTEC HND or equivalent
  • Must have a full driving licence
  • Face to Face selling, with experience of the sales cycle and closing sales
  • Ability to prioritise workload to determine the most effective use of time
  • Absorbs information quickly and identifies key opportunities from data
  • Manages own call file to make best use of distance vs return
  • Handles objections to reassure customers at speed
  • Able to be pragmatic and sober when dealing with the unexpected
  • Driven, resilient and resourceful when coping with daily demands and plans
  • Practices outstanding Customer Service and manages relationships
  • Can use tablet and laptop and MS Office suite as needed, delivering presentations and data to colleagues and customers
