Lead Outpatients Nurse



Are you a senior Nurse with experience in working within Outpatient departments? Looking for your next step or already an experienced manager?

Our client is a highly innovative private care provider with a network of specialist secondary care facilities throughout the UK, due to continued growth we are seeking an experienced Lead Outpatient Nurse to lead their team in Windsor.

You will work in a state-of-the-art clinical setting with the latest equipment, while leading and developing a team of experienced Nurses passionate about providing a first-rate level of patient care.

This is a permanent, full time position with varied progressive opportunities long-term due to our clients high-growth and continued expansion - these roles usually do not stay available for long!


  • be a clinical expert and lead by example, acting as a role model at all times
  • Lead the outpatient department providing day-to-day management of the department ensuring that all staff who work within the service have the competence, training and skill set to adequately carry out the roles required of them and highlight training gaps and needs
  • Lead on the rostering of staff to ensure clinics are run and staffed sufficiently to deliver maximum quality and efficiency.
  • Coordination with administrative colleagues to ensure that all pathways are sensitive to their requirements, achieved through proactively seek their involvement and contribution.
  • Work cohesively with all team members to ensure that the very best services to patients are provided at all times throughout the patients journey
  • Be a flexible individual with the ability to adapt to changes in service provision/delivery
  • Maintain personal CPD in line with the annual personal development programme
  • Ensure all mandatory training is completed within the required timeframe
  • Promote a culture of learning and continuous quality improvement within the department
  • Ensure all patients are fully informed of the risks and benefits of proposed procedures

About You

  • Experience of assisting with minor procedures desirable
  • Previous experience of working within an outpatient setting
  • Good communication skills
  • Venepuncture & cannulation skills
  • Registered Nurse with NMC registration
  • Relevant post registration programme qualification
  • Flexible approach to working and ability to cover clinics according to consultant availability, which can involve evening clinics
