Junior Buyer

Scope

We have a new role available to join the UK’s leading wholesaler of pet products as a Junior Buyer. This role comes as a result of significant growth for the business and will be joining an experience purchasing team.

Responsibilities

  • and Joint Business plans to maximise sales, commercial income and margin and stock availability
  • Develop range plan’s and carry out range reviews to optimise ranging, utilising customer research, market data and Sales team feedback to meet overall strategy and drive category growth
  • Management of the Product life cycle and responsibility for ensuring right first-time data.
  • Continually review sales / stock reports and take appropriate action where necessary ·
  • Manage supplier promotional activity schedules across a range of suppliers to drive sales and profit and negotiate best pricing
  • Manage Supplier price changes and price monitoring v competition
  • Support key new product launches to the Sales teams

About You

  • Able to interpret high levels of numerical data and make quick decisions based on interpretation.
  • The ability to work at pace and with accuracy is critical for this role.
  • Articulate and able to communicate clearly in both verbal and written form, with confidence to interact with a diverse range of both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Eligible to work in the UK on a permanent basis.
  • Strong Negotiation Skills.
  • Minimum qualifications to grade C Maths and English, with excellent computer skills.
  • Experience within a Buying/Buyer’s Assistant Role
  • An understanding of pricing margin analysis to deliver margin improvement and cost
  • Advanced Excel Skill Level
  • Full UK and clean driving licence - desirable
  • SAP experience – desirable
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Passion for pets would be preferable.
