Field Service Manager



A highly desirable market leading organisation operating within the dental industry, known for their inclusive and supportive culture. We are looking to add an experienced Dental Field Service Manager to their team in the South West of the UK. Specific location Cardiff as the role will be a hybrid of both field-based and office-based.

You will be directly responsible for the internal service team through a team leader structure and the field service personnel in the South West region who perform on-site routine services including installation, maintenance, and repair.

Working alongside the Field Service Manager’s for the South and North you will oversee the scheduling and training quality and productivity of field service technicians and internal teams.

This is a fast-paced part of the business where quick thinking and creative problem resolution are essential skills for success.

  • Technical inspections
  • Final and in-progress job inspection and management
  • Quality and productivity assessments
  • Call and case management oversight
  • Accuracy and efficiency of information provided
  • Complaint oversight of quality issues pertaining to internal service activities
  • Provide Technical support and assistance to group service and operations departments as required.
  • Form strong relationships with Field Managers for both the South and North regions for a consistent management approach across the Field service team
  • Act as the bridge in communication and feedback between internal and external service team sharing areas of improvement with your line manager

About You

  • Proven Business experience in a service management function internal and external teams and including financial and personnel management
  • Technical background with the ability to understand electrical/electronic/mechanical equipment. Essential within the dental industry
  • Experience of installing and repairing dental equipment (minimum 3-5 years)
  • Management training / project management training.
  • Self-motivated, having the proven capacity to fully complete tasks to conclusion
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong skills to lead, motivate, support and develop individuals
  • Understand plans, specifications, submittals and other documents received from the customer
  • How to work with field engineering, technical support and project managers to develop solutions, proposals, submittals and quotes for industry related projects
  • Excellent planning, project and time management skills
