Field Service Engineer



Consult Search and Selection are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to work for a global leading supplier of imaging equipment for veterinary customers. Our client is a market leading organisation with offices in multiple locations across the world. They provide 3D imaging solutions such as ultrasound, X-ray, CT, MRI as well as PACS to practices in the animal health industry. The role is a 12 month initial contract with view to go permanent.


  • This position offers an opportunity to work independently in the Southwest and surrounding postcodes, there may also be the opportunity for some international travel on a limited basis. A successful global imaging company, they have a stable field service team that has been steadily growing.
  • They have a flexible approach to work and a strong emphasis on customer service, with a typical work week of 40 hours.
  • The overall job purpose is to carry out routine servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs on a range of imaging products (ultrasound and X-ray mainly) across veterinary practices while establishing and maintaining good customer relations. There may be further travel occasionally to other surrounding areas and overnight stays may be required.
  • You’ll be required to carry out electrical servicing, routine testing and fault finding of equipment while cultivating a positive rapport with the customer and excellent communication and customer service skills is essential.

About You

  • Previous field service experience. Diagnostic imaging is the ideal, particularly X-ray or ultrasound however other industries, such as electronic printer servicing are also considered.
  • HND/Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Full Driver’s License
  • Excellent customer service
