Maintenance & Installation Specialist

Scope

This is a unique role that requires a multi skilled maintenance technician who can complete and reactivate service for customers using Ecat-iD & DESVAC equipment within the UK and Ireland.

You will be required to project manage hatchery installation from conception to installation and be responsible for ensuring the successful running of industrial equipment in our customer’s hatcheries, co-ordinating with a small dynamic team, Veterinary Service Manager and customers own maintenance engineers in major installations.

Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting electrical, mechanical and pneumatic diagrams.
  • Project management of installations, co-ordinating other support functions and customer engineers.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical breakdowns, responding quickly to customer needs.
  • Adjusting mechanical parts.
  • Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks in accordance with service contracts.
  • Communicating with the Ecat-iD and Desvac Campus project management teams.
  • Working with customer to optimise equipment performance and hatchery processes to deliver outstanding performance.
  • Scheduling interventions to suit client’s production schedule.
  • Preparing and submitting maintenance reports.
  • Inventory control
  • Work with Ecat-iD & Desvac aftersales teams to develop products that meet and exceed the clients needs and expectations.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent: Mechanical - Electrical Engineering or similar field.
  • Previous work experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical system maintenance.
  • Knowledge of industrial sensors, variators and PLC systems.
  • Familiarity with UK and Ireland safety standards and regulations.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of importance of good hatchery processes to deliver outstanding chick quality.
  • Autonomous.
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Good computer and reporting skills.
  • Extensive travel within the UK and Ireland and visits to Ecat-iD – Desvac Campuses for training and equipment validations.
  • Previous poultry industry experience would be advantageous.
