Scope

Responsibilities

  • Leading or participating in incident investigations; reporting these internally.
  • Contributing to the development of EHS improvement programmes and implementing improvement opportunities on the site.
  • Facilitating or delivering EHS Training/toolbox; assisting in analyzing training needs.
  • Being at the forefront on impact of new legislation.
  • Supporting site supervision on Risk Assessments and control measures, and through participation of EHS audits.
  • Supporting development and delivery of Behavioural Safety, IH & Ergonomics programs.
  • Working with external bodies and regulators such as Local Authority, ROSPA, NRW and BSI.
  • Networking with peer EHS Professionals around the UK.
  • Driving improvements in both sites Safety & Environmental management systems.

About You

  • Candidates would be expected to hold NEBOSH certificate.
  • Environmental experience is an advantage.
  • A manufacturing background or experience is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment issues affecting a manufacturing site, through relevant prior experience.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and workload.
  • Communicates status of the site EHS systems and results to local operational management.
  • Collates and analyses EHS data and reports trends and results to management, recommends plans for corrective action, and provides EHS input to address change in facility programmes.
  • Communicates effectively in written and oral formats with peers.
  • Presents ideas well one-on-one, in small groups, and to larger audiences. Has the ability to convey meaning and importance of EHS topics to non-EHS personnel, and to influence others to take appropriate action based on such information. Actively seeks to continually improve communication and presentation skills.
  • Works independently on assignments and knows when to ask for assistance. Can provide guidance to others in their work and input to working procedures.
