Business Planning Manager

The role of the Business Planning Manager will be a strong contributor to the whole company performance. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team you will be a key resource for business analysis and compiling strategic reports. You will take direct responsibility for driving allocated projects, both tactical day-to-day functional tasks and strategic development projects for the company, both in the UK and Netherlands.


  • This person will understand the strategic vision of the company Business Unit and be able to illustrate and articulate the plans and activities to a high standard, in a format that can be presented to C-level executives where required.
  • In addition to acting a strategic supporting resource you will also take personal responsibility for leading and driving strategic business projects and allocated tasks, facilitating cross functional initiatives and communicating outcomes across the company. This person will keep multiple critical tasks running at a fast pace, aligning with all key stakeholders, driving momentum and team engagement.
  • Responsible for gathering business analytics and turning information into insights that matter - from which timely business decisions can be made
  • Acting as a “one stop shop” to available financial and commercial data. Supporting across the Senior Leadership Team will be compiling this data, and reporting to support projects and reports required.
  • Transform the analysis into professional materials (presentations, reports) to be read by senior executives
  • Take on key tasks, own the tasks through to completion, often with very tight deadlines. Gather local resources, support and inspire to complete.
  • Work closely with Senior Leadership Team, and as a peer identify opportunities for business improvement. Where required, map processes, identify optimization opportunities and lead the change process through execution, measurement and further refinement.
  • In close collaboration with the Managing Director, lead the local business planning process. Leads an annual review process ensuring high engagement to the Vision>Strategic Initiatives>Execution>Review cycle.
  • Ad-hoc analytical tasks required for both local activities and HQ reporting, across all functional areas and activities.
  • Capture key organizational deadlines, create visualization of activity calendar and track appropriate preparation across teams – including forward planning of likely organizational resource conflicts and escalated to support prioritization.

About You

  • Bachelors (preferably Masters) Degree in Business, Economics or Communication
  • Proven track record in project and business management, ideally with a qualification in Project Management (PRINCE2, PMP).
  • The ability to speak fluent English is required. Additional languages are desirable.
  • Demonstrable attention to detail, strong at execution. A bias towards action: this person will be expected to be extremely pro-active in their work. Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • An ability to prioritise – the role will create a very large quantity of work, and this person will need to be able to prioritise what is important/valuable.
  • Experience leading and executing projects in a complex organizational environment and work on several diverse projects at the same time
  • Organized and disciplined, showing attention to detail, and following up doggedly to ensure the right results.
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in analyst or consulting role
  • Demonstrable exceptional communication (verbally, written and visual) skills, able to translate ideas into clear, high impact communications and may also be periodically expected to deliver this to audiences at multiple levels in the organization.

The role will require you to be based close to the Oxfordshire office, and present in the office daily. There is potential for additional travel to Netherlands and Belgium on a quarterly basis.
