Business Development Specialist

Scope

Consult are looking for a Business Development Specialist with Territory Sales Experience ideally within operating room construction for our client who is a Global Market Leading Medical Devices manufacturer, specialising in; connected care equipment, surgical workflows & instruments, cardiology diagnostics and safe patient handling. The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for the development and expansion of the construction segment across the Global Surgical Solutions portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • The role will require exceptional communication skills with the ability to plan, implement and monitor strategies. Meet objectives and specifications with planners, architects, contractors and design offices in England, Scotland and Wales to achieve maximum sales and market share for the company portfolio.
  • drive and execute sales opportunities and meet or exceed the sales forecasts specified in the Business Plan for the construction portfolio, both in terms of margins and sales.
  • The role requires a good grasp of the NHS commercial landscape, great project management skills and the ability to both support and influence the wider sales organization to achieve the results targeted
  • Development strategies of the area of construction projects, in particular lighting, ceiling supply units, video integration.
  • Establishing and expanding existing and potential partnerships
  • A reliable and trusted advisor to end users across the portfolio
  • Creation of concepts for turnkey operating theatres, ITU/HDU, and A&E spaces.
  • Utilizing the Miller Heiman Blue Sheet Methodology for planning the tactics for success in key strategic opportunities
  • Development of comprehensive solution packages for surgical disciplines in collaboration with colleagues, e.g. vascular and neurosurgery, spine, cardiology ( infrastructure products + operating table + radiology)
  • Maintaining the relationship between production and marketing (UK / Europe) for the construction sector
  • Accompany, support, and train the sales team to set up complex projects in the field of construction with comprehensive and turnkey solutions
  • Compliance with safety and environmental protection rules
  • Supporting partnerships with purchasing groups and consortiums that exist within the UK healthcare market and private sector, in order to leverage sales
  • Taking responsibility for one's own contributions to the areas of safety and the environment

About You

  • Extensive knowledge in the field of operating room construction as well as interior design in the medical environment
  • At least 3 years of proven experience in sales in this field.
  • Extensive experience in project management and in cooperation with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of the clinical environment and clinical workflows
  • IT knowledge (confident handling of Outlook and Microsoft Office products, CRM knowledge is an advantage)
  • An understanding of solution selling, appreciation for the complex medical market and is naturally curious about the trends and initiatives being seen across the UK.
