Business Development Manager

Scope

An opportunity has arisen to work for a leading healthcare consumables business in order to develop new and existing business in the corporate B2B side of their organisation. The business has seen a huge increase in sales activity in the recent months which has resulted in the need to expand their non-acute sales team. This role will be based in the North East and requires someone with extensive experience of selling to large corporate businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Working with and selling to distributors in order to increase revenue
  • Create strong partnerships with existing customers
  • Develop prospects from opportunity through to implementation and winning business
  • Provide added value services - staff training and act as trusted infection prevention advice expert for customer
  • Negotiate at a high level with autonomy to secure new business
  • Meet (or exceed) margin target returns from accounts
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to design a credible, robust and long term B2B growth strategy
  • Attend and support cross-functional teams at exhibitions and events

About You

  • Experience selling consumable products to a similar customer base is essential
  • Must have previous experience working for a manufacturer selling to distributors/dealers in a B2B setting
  • Looking for 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Experience selling to CCGs, Care homes, Primary Care, Community Care etc
  • Proven ability to grow sales within territory and maintain a strong sales pipeline
  • Experience selling to customers through multiple channels
  • Evidence of previous sales training (internal or external) is desirable
  • Understanding of infection prevention would be advantageous
  • An appetite to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a connected team
  • Valid UK driving licence
