Area Sales Manager - Equine

Scope

Consult Animal Health are currently working on this fantastic opportunity to join a well-reputed veterinary pharmaceuticals business as an Equine Area Sales Manager. The role will be based in Ireland and requires travel throughout Ireland. This is a great opportunity for an experienced equine vet with commercial skills to develop their sales career in an industry they love. This role will showcase your technical knowledge of the equine pharmaceutical market and utilise your relationship building skills within the equine vet sector.

Responsibilities

  • You must develop a strong interpersonal relationship with your existing Clients and new Clients as they come on board
  • Engage with and manage existing customer accounts
  • Prospect and develop a pipeline of new customer accounts and relationship
  • Be knowledgeable in products relating to your area of the business – i.e. Equine sector
  • Attend customer trade shows or other business development events as needed
  • Encourage the adoption of customer order taking through the system
  • Each customer/prospecting meeting should have a desired outcome and next steps which will help our business achieve its goals
  • Need to understand the challenges that the structured Corporate Groups present and generate actions to overcome their specific needs or requirements
  • Need to be clear on sales targets and if you are ahead or behind, generating actions to address any shortfalls
  • Contribute to generating annual sales plans and budgets
  • Required to submit market information for new product selection and generate forecasted volumes for procurement as required

About You

  • Previous experience in selling and developing business relationships in the Irish Equine Veterinary sector
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • Good computing skills, including some experience of using Excel and databases
  • Good organisation skills
  • Good decision-making skills
  • Energetic, highly motivated, with an enquiring mind and passion for excellence and customer service
  • Strong team player
  • Current driver’s licence
