Analytical Method Development Chemist



An opportunity to join a team responsible for the testing and development of new inhalation pharmaceutical products, you will be responsible for leading the development of LC analytical methods that will be used for the testing of pharmaceutical products.

My client is a development and manufacturing organization that specialises in drug delivery for the pharmaceutical industry. With multiple sites in the UK they are seeking an experienced formulation and development scientist, specifically within the inhalation-based drugs market. This is an exciting time to join them as they are investing and expanding, and they have more than one opening in this team.


  • This role will include methods starting from scratch for which there is very limited or no existing literature available.
  • Working to GMP standards, some key responsibilities include:
  • Method development and method validation using LC
  • Full contribution to the development of stability indicating impurity methods
  • Problem solving and producing robust methodologies to analyse pharmaceutical products
  • Analytical method life-cycle management, including use of Quality by Design and completion of method risk assessments

About You

  • Experience in the characterisation of organic impurities within the pharmaceutical industry (GMP / MHRA / FDA / ICH etc.)
  • Extensive practical experience with method development and validation with LCMS
  • Knowledge of organic chemistry and experience of relating this knowledge to the prediction of degradation pathways of organic molecules is preferred.
