Account Executive


This is a fantastic opportunity, working for a globally leading pharmaceutical company. An industry leader and renowned for the products they manufacture, known for having one of the best training and development programs in the market. They’re now expanding and searching for an Account Executive, ideally a recent graduate with a scientific degree.


The main purpose of the role is to increase company revenues at a territory and regional level through effective selling of the company’s Respiratory Portfolio in accordance with UK Marketing Plan(s) to target customers. Predominately operating within Primary Care, working with other NHS customers, subject to individual experience, business needs and local priorities.

  • To increase revenues and market share of company Respiratory Portfolio through achievement of agreed sales targets.
  • To drive medication reviews/new business at a Practice level based on the locality needs and across the NHS utilising the appropriate influencers (e.g. GPs, CCGs, PCOs, and retail pharmacists).
  • To successfully launch and grow key Corporate Respiratory products.
  • To effectively implement UK Marketing Plan/Strategies at a territory/regional level. Ensuring key corporate objectives are delivered through the production and subsequent implementation of territory business plan.
  • To drive awareness of Respiratory Portfolio by adhering to agreed activity plan in regards to coverage and frequency.
  • To influence target customers with a view to developing long term relationships.
  • To display high levels of product and customer knowledge to establish the business as a key respiratory company in the UK Market.
  • Ensure all administration from key account plans to monthly expenses is completed to the required standard and within agreed deadlines.

About You

  • Track record of delivering consistent sales results in accordance with set targets.
  • Advanced selling skills and presentation skills.
  • High level of clinical and market knowledge within the Respiratory therapy area.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Effective territory planning skills through Key Account Management.
  • Business planning skills, including the ability to produce business proposals/cases as required.
  • Basic knowledge of the administration requirements of the contract and tendering process.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to develop long term relationships across the key customer groups including but not limited to key opinion leaders.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Critical reasoning skills: capable of interpreting and subsequently using available data sources to enhance the effectiveness of territory planning.
  • Ideally IT skills, especially in relation to the use of ETMS and spreadsheets.
  • Full UK Driving licence (with no more than 6 penalty points for new entrants)
  • Strong NHS knowledge
